Impact Hard Justice, Year 4

This started as a David/Goliath match. Corbin hit a huge full nelson slam. Kidd took down the big man and DDT'd him on the apron. Corbin shook it off and hit a superplex. He then hit a front slam and retained his title.

Not the best match. They didn't seem to mesh well.

Um, I guess they deserve a PPV match. Rowan hit a press slam. Sin Cara landed a flying head scissors. He then hit an STO and dive to the outside. Cara kept the pressure with a second STO and schoolboy powerbomb to win.

NXT TakeOver: Arrival

What a show we have tonight. I scratched the rankings. I wasn't going to change every title match for every PPV. I'll let the game book everything!

Match 1. Enzo and Big Cass vs. Gallows and Anderson - NXT Tag Team Championship
Enzo hit Luke with a sit-out jaw breaker. Cass landed two second-rope side slams. Gallows came back with a superplex. He beat down Enzo up the ramp. After a sitting spine buster on Enzo, Anderson got two near falls. Cass pinned Gallows with the East River Crossing.

A big win for the tag champs.

Match 2. Submission - AJ Styles vs. Scott Hall
Is this our first time seeing Hall in action? Styles focused on the back and neck early. Hall landed a fall away slam and chokeslam. He then kicked AJ's head into the steel post. AJ connected with two Pele kicks. After an Outsider's Edge, Hall locked in the Boston Crab and made Styles tap.

Wow. Hall actually pulled out a submission and won in his first try.

Match 3. Bulldog vs. Neville vs. Booker - European Championship
This could steal the show. Bulldog quickly took down his opponents. All three traded back suplexes and slams. Booker hit Neville with a heel kick and spine buster. Neville came back with a running cutter. Neville took out Bulldog with a German and Booker almost won with the Book End. There were a bunch more near falls. Bulldog hit Booker with a press slam. Neville followed up with a inside out 450 splash to win.

Holy crap. That definitely lived up to expectations. Neville is the new champ.

Match 4. Submission - Kevin Nash vs. Bray Wyatt
This should be interesting. Another interesting matchup. Nash hit a sidewalk slam and locked in a camel clutch. Wyatt landed a clutch slam. Bray connected with his own super fall away slam. Nash hit the Jackknife and locked in a single-leg crab. Nash shook off a Sister Abigail and won with a single-leg crab.

A decent match. Wyatt had the upper hand for a decent part of the match, too.

Match 5. Ricky Steamboat vs. Curtis Axel
This has been building up for the last two months. Can Axel get the big win? Ricky kept Axel grounded for a bit. Axel hit a swinging neck breaker but couldn't capitalize. After a power slam, Steamboat hit a diving cross body to get the win.

Axel raised Steamboat's arm in the end. I guess he's learning about respect.

Match 6. Submission - John Cena vs. Mankind
They quickly went to the outside. Cena hit two reverse DDTs and a running sit-out powerbomb. He then hit the 5 Knuckle Shuffle and AA. But this is a submission match. He attempted an arm bar. Mankind was making a comeback when Cena busted out a second AA. Mankind used Mr. Socko but Cena escaped. Mankind hit a running bulldog and won with Mr. Socko.

This could be the biggest upset in all of Universe. Mankind makes Cena tap.

Main Event. Iron Man - Seth Rollins vs. Triple H - NXT Championship
Whoa. Seth busted out a frog splash early. He's looking for that first point. H almost scored the first fall but Rollins grabbed the rope. He then got a near fall after a Pedigree. Trips got the first point after a back breaker. He went up 2-0 after a Pedigree. Rollins came back with his own Pedigree to cut the deficit in half. He hit a Buckle Bomb and tried to score with his feet on the ropes. Trips goes up 3-1 with a spine buster and then 4-1 with another Pedigree. Rollins made it 4-2 with his second Pedigree. He needs to pick up the pace. 4-3 after a front slam but the bell rang soon after.

Triple H is now the NXT Champion. Are we getting another reign of terror?

Recap: Triple H, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall all won on this show. Interesting. I'm interested to see where the Steamboat/Axel story goes now.

I already saw the other matches at the PPV. This is what's left. This was a pretty even match. Dallas hit some suplexes and Rude landed a press slam and neck breaker. After fighting out the outside. Rude won with the Ravishing Neck Breaker.

Decent match considering neither man had momentum.

A rematch from TakeOver. Rollins kicked Trips into the corner and hit a clothesline. H hit a side slam and piledriver. I thought that move was illegal. Rollins came back with the roll-though heel kick. Triple H hit Rollins with the Pedigree through the announce table. Rollins recovered and won after hitting a second super kick.

The champ prevailed somehow. Anyone else would have been done in by the Pedigree.

Impact

Aiden is now on Impact.

Match 3. Dean Ambrose vs. Jack Gallagher

Technical against power. After a stint on the outside, Hennig hit a snapmare. Show tossed Perfect up and hit the knockout punch on the way down but got a two count. Hennig grabbed the ropes after a spear. Show then pinned a bloody Hennig after a second spear.

A good opening match. Show was just too powerful for the Perfect One.

Whoa. The big guys were off their feet and Breezango took advantage.

Two legends vying for a title shot next month. Edge hit a cheap shot after a lock up. No surprise. After some back and forth, Edge hit the Edge-O-Matic, but Austin kicked out. Austin hit the Lou Thesz Press. Edge busted Austin open with a second DDT. Austin got a two count after the Stunner. Edge won with the spear.

Austin fired up after getting busted open but Edge was able to hit the spear.

Match 6. Batista vs. Bobby Roode
Batista hit a half-and-half suplex. Roode grabbed a chair and cracked Batista over the head. Batista came back with a powerbomb on the outside. Roode hit a suplex and Death Valley Driver to win.

Not the best match. Roode pins a big name, which is a plus.

Main Event. Shawn Michaels vs. Cesaro - WWF Championship
This could be the best wrestled match so far. Michaels was in control early. Cesaro hit a gutwrench suplex and locked in a couple of holds. Cesaro caught Michaels with the European uppercut but got a near fall. He followed it up with the Neutralizer but again got a two count. Michaels landed the Sweet Chin Music and diving elbow but Cesaro kicked out. Michaels shook off a German suplex on the outside and won with a second super kick.

What a match. Cesaro had Michaels down a couple of times. HBK is just too damn good.

Impact Slammiversary, Year 4

This is an intense show.

A great women's match. Trish hit two finishers and still couldn't defeat Asuka.

Match 3. Tyson Kidd vs. Baron Corbin - X-Division Championship
Corbin could be the biggest X-Division champ if he wins. Corbin hit two big clotheslines. Kidd escaped a hold and landed a German suplex. Corbin came back with a back suplex and his own German suplex. Kidd DDT'd Corbin on the apron. After a Samoan drop, Corbin won with the End of Days.

Corbin overpowered Kidd for most of the match. He's got some tough competition.

Match 4. Roderick Strong vs. Jack Gallagher
Gallagher accidentally knocked out the ref to start the match. After some back and forth, they spilled to the outside. Strong had Gallagher in a pin but Jack grabbed the rope. He then hit a double underhook back breaker. Strong then won with a knee drop brain buster.

While Strong gets the win, Gallagher surely isn't over it.

Match 5. American Alpha vs. Hype Bros - Impact Tag Team Championship
Two fan-favorite tag teams. The other two teams are waiting in the shadows. Gable hit Mojo with a t-bone suplex but Rawley quickly recovered. Ryder hit a Playmaker to Jordan. He then hit Gable with an inverted DDT. The ref counted the pin but Gable had his hand on the ropes.

Wow. American Alpha got robbed. That's not how the officiating should be. Can the Hype Bros enjoy this victory?

Match 6. Last Man Standing - Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ric Flair
Two legends of their time. They traded reversals early. Nakamura was down for a while after a knee to the head. Shinsuke landed a reverse exploder. He later connected with a Codebreaker. Shinsuke continued with a German, reverse exploder and reverse suplexes. Flair somehow shook all of that off and kept on fighting. Nakamura put Flair away with a DDT that busted him open.

What a match. Flair would not give up. Shinsuke hit one fatal shot to the head.

Main Event. Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle vs. Sheamus

Recap: It's hard to tell has the best roster right now. All are littered with great stars and potential. I think it's Impact.

SmackDown Live's Payback, Year 4

We will crown all four SD Live champions.

Match 1. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks - SmackDown Women's Championship
Two of the toughest women on the roster. Naomi hit a head scissors and twisting leg drop. She then hit a springboard cross body and backbreaker. Sasha made her comeback and landed the Back Stabber but got a two count. Naomi recovered and won with the Rear View.

A great women's match. Naomi will have some tough competition.

Match 2. TM61 vs. The Usos - SmackDown Tag Team Championship
Thorne hit Jey with a uri nagi. Miller then worked over Jimmy. Thorne hit Jey with a spinning slam and a sit-out powerbomb. Miller and Jimmy fought on the outside. Thorne then won with a 450 splash.

What a match. No wasted motion by TM61. These two are definitely not done fighting.

Match 3. DIY vs. The Ascension
DIY is a bit undersized here. Ciampa was able to out-wrestle them early. Konnor slammed Ciampa down and kept him down with a backbreaker. He dodges an elbow and finally reaches Gargano and DIY takes over. All four men were in the ring. Gargano kicked out of a full nelson slam. Viktor pinned Ciampa after a sit-out butterfly powerbomb.

Another good tag match. The Ascension pick up a nice win over the veterans.

Match 4. Rob Van Dam vs. Rusev - United States Championship
These two have big wins leading up to this match. Rusev shook off a wheel kick and overpowered Van Dam. He hit a super Samoan drop. After a backbreaker, he hit an ax kick. RVD hit a 'rana on the outside and a corkscrew senton. Rusev won with the Alabama Slam.

Van Dam couldn't build up momentum. Rusev dominated 90 percent of the match.

Match 5. Eric Young vs. The Miz
A feud based on respect. It was pretty even in the beginning. Miz then had Young down and kicked him in the ribs. Young busted out a Death Valley Driver for a near fall. He then hit a piledriver and super back suplex. Miz went for a front headlock DDT but Young countered. Young kicked out of the Skull Crushing Finale. After a neck breaker, Young won with a huge diving elbow.

Miz went to attack Young but Eric ducked and tossed him out. Young triumphs over Miz. Good match.

Match 6. Last Man Standing - Chris Jericho vs. Braun Strowman
This is a tough task for Jericho. Jericho pulled out a chair to make it even, but it backfired. Braun had Jericho down a few times. Jericho built up momentum and hit a reverse suplex. He pulled out a bat. Let's see how this goes. He hit Braun over the head. Braun hit a huge powerbomb and won after a twisting flapjack.

Jericho tried to use weapons but they didn't help. Braun keeps on winning.

Main Event. Undertaker vs. Sami Zayn - WWE Championship
Zayn was the last guy I thought deserved a title shot. What a matchup, though. Zayn hit a half-and-half suplex. Zayn was hitting some big moves early. He landed the Blue Thunder Bomb but Taker kicked out. Taker connected with Old School. Zayn got another near fall after the Helluva kick and second Blue Thunder Bomb. Taker would not stay down. Taker scooped Zayn for the Tombstone and won.

Holy crap. Zayn hit every move in his arsenal but couldn't win. Taker stands tall.

Recap: A good first PPV for SmackDown. Taker, Naomi, TM61 and Rusev are the champs.

Main Event. Shawn Michaels vs. Stone Cold
Cesaro walked out to get a closer look at this match. Austin locked in a cloverleaf on the outside. Michaels hit a slam and huge moonsault. He then went after Cesaro. Not a smart idea. Austin went for a pin but HBK grabbed the ropes at the last second. He busted him open with a Lou Thesz Press. Austin then won with the Stunner.

Michaels going after Cesaro changed the path of this match.

SmackDown Live

Match 2. Sin Cara vs. Erick Rowan

Match 3. Miz vs. Eric Young
These two continued to fight up the ramp after the match.

Match 4. Undertaker vs. Rusev

Whoa! Neville pinned the NXT champ. Will he get a shot?

Impact
Match 1. Roderick Strong vs. Jack Gallagher
This should be a great wrestling match. Roddy got Jack with a back breaker. He later hit a double underhook back breaker. Jack hit a head scissors. Roddy hit a suplex and won but the ref didn't see Gallagher grab the rope.

As Strong was celebrating, Gallagher attacked him from behind. I mean, I get being mad but don't do it that way.

Match 2. Rich Swann vs. Luke Harper vs. Lex Luger

Match 3. Christian vs. Lex Luger

Match 4. Kassius Ohno vs. The Rock

Main Event. Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle

Recap: Impact had a huge turn heading into their PPV. Neville gets a big win.

NXT TakeOver: Japan, Year 4

I will not be editing any matches for this year. Just rolling with the punches.

Match 1. Table - British Bulldog vs. Booker T - NXT European Championship
Has either man been in a table match? Bulldog hit a power slam and ax smash. He then brought in a table. They fought on the outside for a bit. Booker hit the Scissors Kick and set up the table in the corner. Bulldog came back and hit the running slam. He then speared Booker through the table.

Bulldog becomes the first European champion. A good first title match. Everyone take notice.

Match 2. Becky Lynch vs. Summer Rae
Summer was using her long legs early. Becky dodged a diving splash. Summer hit a full nelson bomb and locked in a body scissors. She then hit Summer Crush to win.

Not the most exciting women's match. Summer does upset Becky.

Match 3. Dana Brooke vs. Nia Jax - NXT Women's Championship
Can this women's match be better? This was going at a much faster pace. Dana lifted Nia and then slammed her down for a near fall. After a front slam, Nia hit 10 elbow drops. She then landed a super kick and super back suplex. She grew frustrated. Dana landed her second Samoan Driver to win.,

A much better match. They both had their chances. Dana impressed me.

Match 4. Ricky Steamboat vs. Curtis Axel
Can Axel get a win here? He hit a release belly-to-back. Steamboat hit a nice running slam and butterfly slam. After a back suplex, he connected with a diving cross body and got the win.

Axel refused the handshake after the match. You would think the son of Mr. Perfect would show respect.

Match 5. Enzo and Cass vs. The Good Brothers - NXT Tag Team Championship
Enzo hit Gallows with a flipping neck breaker. Cass caught Anderson with a big boot. He then hit the East River Crossing. Anderson pulled out a cutter for a near fall. After a super side slam to Gallows, Cass pinned him win a big boot.

Cass and Enzo are the first NXT tag champs. They looked great.

Match 6. Last Man Standing - John Cena vs. Mankind
This should be fun. Winner gets the champ next? Mankind bit the forehead of Cena. After a throwback, Cena hit the 5 Knuckle Shuffle and AA. Mankind got up at 7. Mankind kept the pressure on Cena, keeping him down for a while. He then hit a double-arm DDT. Cena could not get up.

No weapons, no ringside fighting. Just a standard wrestling match. I can't believe the finish.

Main Event. Seth Rollins vs. Triple H - NXT Championship
What?! Where did Triple H come from? He hasn't even had a match. Rollins hit two full nelson suplexes. He got a near fall after a rolling heel kick. H landed the running high knee and spine buster for a two count. Rollins went for the frog splash but Triple H popped up and hit the Pedigree but Rollins kicked out. Trips landed some chair shots. Rollins came back with his Pedigree but to no avail. Rollins hit a Falcon Arrow and won with a rolling super kick.

What a match! Triple H, in his first appearance, almost walked out with the title.

Recap: That was a great first PPV. We crowned all of the champions and had a couple of good grudge matches.

AJ took a bit of a beating this match. Styles is phenomenal for a reason.

Impact
Match 1. Luke Harper vs. Dean Ambrose
A good mid-card match. Blue jeans and white, dirty tank tops for both. Dean countered Harper and hit a neck breaker. Harper had Ambrose in a gator roll and then hit a super fall away slam. Dean attempted the Regal Stretch and hit a powerbomb. Harper won with a bicycle kick.

Match 2. Mickie James vs. Summer Rae

Match 3. Curtis Axel vs. Shane McMahon

A big man event. I thought NXT was a developmental brand. The match quickly spilled to the outside and they stayed out there for a while. Cena hit Nash with the AA but Rollins was right there to break it up. Rollins hit Cena with the Pedigree and Nash immediately cracked Rollins over the head with a bat. Nash took out Rollins, allowing Cena to hit the AA and win.

That was a main event. Both Rollins and Cena were bleeding towards the end.

A good 4-way that could have been even better. Nakamura defeated 3 great talents.

Recap:

Universe Update: Year 4 and WWE 2K18

So, it's been 3 successful years of WWE 2K16 Universe Mode. Albeit some game crashes on the PS4 and having to redo some matches, I had a good time with this game. But it's time to move on and plan for the future.

I am getting WWE 2K18, I just don't know when. I may wait until it's on sale on Black Friday, which is towards the end of November. This raises an interesting question. Do I do nothing and wait or start Year 4 now and carry it over into 2K18?

I already looked at the '18 roster and there is a lot of crossover between the two rosters. Obviously, '18 included a lot of CAWs I downloaded so that works. There are some stars that are no longer in '18, so I won't be including them. Bye bye to Adam Rose, Roddy Piper and a few others. I just have to download 15-20 CAWs once Community Creations is up and running.

I will continue Year 4 as much as I can. If that means I end in July, then it ends there. I don't think I can get all the way to April. I'll play until I get 2K18 and then start completely over.

As for the Universe itself, I am changing things up greatly. A fresh start. I will have just 4 shows, not 5. It was just too much. I will have Raw is War, SmackDown Live, NXT and Impact. I originally wanted to have Raw for the 90s guys, SD for the current roster, NXT for developmental and Impact for the "non-WWE" talent. Then I decided that would get very boring, seeing the same thing we've seen before.

So, those will be the shows with the rosters all mixed up. The roster breakdown will be 10 main eventers, 10-12 mid-card, 8 women and 4 tag teams per show (until I download more), making that 32 stars per show.

The draft results will be in a separate post. Here's to a great Year 4 and improved Universe in 2K18.

RAW & SD WRESTLEMANIA, Year 3

Match 1. Owens vs. Zayn vs. Rollins vs. Breeze vs. Wyatt vs. Ziggler - IC Championship
This is a ladder match. Bell rang and the faces hit three suplexes. Zayn hit Breeze with a fisherman piledriver and a Blue Thunder Bomb. He then brought in a ladder. Owens hit Bray with a cannonball splash. Zayn took out Breeze and made the first attempt at the belt. Dolph tossed Zayn down and he landed on the steps. Rollins then super kicked Breeze and pulled down the title.

That was a fun opening match. Rollins was interjected into the Zayn/Owens feud and this is his revenge.

Match 2. Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett - WWE World Championship
Sheamus landed a few strikes early. Barrett threw Sheamus into the ref and hit a tilt-a-whirl back breaker. He then hit a German suplex on the outside. Sheamus got a near fall after White Noise. Barrett pulled off the Winds of Change. Sheamus DDT'd Wade on the apron. After a second White Noise, Sheamus retained with the Irish Curse.

Barrett didn't put up the biggest fight after a good showing on SmackDown. Sheamus retains.

Match 3. Tye Dillinger vs. Baron Corbin - United States Championship
Tye ducked a clothesline and hit an STO and jump kick. After a neck breaker, Tye connected with a diving leg drop. He then slammed Corbin through the announce table. He's fighting for his life here. Corbin landed some offense. Tye hit a superplex and looked confident. He then busted Corbin open with the Tye Breaker. Instead of a pin, he went for a springboard elbow but missed. Corbin took advantage and won with the End of Days.

Oh my. Dillinger was doing so well. He just took it one step too far and it cost him.

Match 4. Hype Bros vs. The Usos - SD Tag Team Championship
Ryder countered a slam into a German suplex. Jimmy and Mojo traded moves. Jey then hit a diving splash. He hit Ryder with two kicks to the gut. The Usos hit Mojo with two superkicks and the slam/splash combo to win the titles.

Not the best tag match but the Usos were firing on all cylinders.

Match 5. Paige vs. Brie Bella - SD Women's Championship
Brie getting one last shot before she walks away. Paige worked Brie over on the outside. Brie came back with a big clothesline. They then went back and forth for a little. Brie hit a super back suplex. Paige hit some headbutts and the Paige Turner but Brie kicked out. Paige landed a dive through the ropes. Brie recovered and won with the Bella Buster.

A great women's match. Brie shook off everything Paige gave her to win.

Match 6. Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman
The two big men going at it. They traded strikes before Braun pulled out a ladder. Braun knocked Lesnar around with the ladder. He then tossed her into the steel post. Lesnar dodged a splash and hit a gut wrench slam. He then cracked Braun over the head with a chair and threw him into the steps. Braun hit a half nelson back breaker. Lesnar no-sold ladder shots and won with an F5 onto the ladder.

Just the brawl I thought it would be. These two beasts fought all over.

Main Event. Roman Reigns vs. Finn Balor - Universal Championship
Here it is, the main event. Reigns hit a headbutt and Samoan drop. Balor tried cutting the legs out from Roman. Reigns hit a superplex. Balor hit a falling gut buster and diving elbow drop. Reigns came back with another Samoan drop and Superman punch but Finn kicked out. Roman followed up with the spear but Balor kicked out again! A bloody Balor landed the shotgun dropkick. Balor dodged a second Superman punch and rolled Roman up to win the title.

What a match! Roman dominated Balor, bloodying him up but The Demon found a way to win.

Recap: Wow. Balor ends 'Mania on a good note. Braun/Brock was a fun fight. The ladder match started things off great.

NXT AND ECWCW STARRCADE, Year 3

Six titles on the line to end year three for these two shows.

Match 1. Rich Swann vs. Neville vs. Austin Aries - Cruiserweight Championship
What an opening match. Aries and Swann worked over Neville early. Neville came back and took out the other two. He hit Aries with a reverse Frankensteiner. Neville went to the top but Aries hit a superplex to Neville, he hit Swann with a neck breaker between the ropes. Neville hit the Red Arrow but Aries broke it up. Aries knocked Swann out with an elbow. Neville then rolled Aries up and got the win.

Wow. These guys were flying all over. Neville stole the title from Aries.

Match 2. TM61 vs. Authors of Pain - NXT Tag Team Championship
Wait...that's Paul Heyman with the AoP. Miller took out Akam with a spin kick at the start. He kept the pressure and got a near fall. Akam got a reprieve with Rezar tagging in. Heyman then caused a distraction. Rezar hit two back suplexes. AoP then took over. Thorne landed a sit-out powerbomb but Heyman distracted the ref. Things then broke down. Heyman was knocked down and Miller won with a spinning powerbomb.

TM61 didn't let Heyman or the size of the AoP distract them from their goal. This isn't over.
