NXT and ECWCW: R EVOLUTION, Year 3

Five championships on the line and two grudge matches.

Match 1. Rey Mysterio vs. Rob Van Dam - ECW Television Championship
This is a no holds barred match. One last chance for Van Dam. After a rolling bulldog, Rey hit a huge springboard moonsault. RVD pulled out a ladder and crushed Rey with it. He then hit a reverse 450 splash. Rey hit a tornado DDT onto the ladder. RVD landed the Rolling Thunder. Rey shook off the sledgehammer hits and won with the 619.

The ultimate underdog retains his title again. A great opening match.

Match 2. Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka - NXT Women's Championship
Asuka hasn't been herself since losing the title. Alexa hit a back suplex and mounted punches. Asuka came back with kicks to the chest and a roundhouse kick. She then tossed Alexa up and caught her with a superkick on the way down to win back her title.

Wow. What a beating from Asuka. She kicked every part of Alexa on her way to win.

Match 3. Ricky Steamboat vs. Brian Pillman
Steamboat had control of Pillman early. Brian hit a couple of moves but Steamboat quickly recovered. He hit a huge diving crossbody and got the win.

Pillman went to attack Steamboat but Ricky countered and tossed him out of the ring.

A disappointing loss for the 4 Horsemen member. Steamboat still has it.

Match 4. The Brian Kendrick vs. Rich Swann - Cruiserweight Championship
Swann hit a snap DDT and falling back suplex for a near fall. Kendrick threw Swann into the ropes but Rich came back with the handspring cutter. Kendrick landed a full nelson suplex on the outside. Swann grabbed Kendrick and hit the package powerbomb to win the Cruiserweight title.

What a win for Swann. He hit some big moves and was finally able to defeat the champ.

Match 5. Dusty Rhodes vs. Sting - WCW Championship
Two legends going at it. Dusty couldn't land any offense early. Dusty locked in a hammerlock but Sting escaped. Sting connected with the Sting Splash and Scorpion Death Drop but Dusty kicked out! Sting continued with a kneeling piledriver and second SDD but got another two count. Dusty landed the striking combo. Sting blocked the elbow and Dusty countered the piledriver. Dusty kicked out of another piledriver but fell victim to a third Death Drop.

I can't believe Dusty was still kicking out after all of that. There's no shame in losing.

Match 6. Diamond Harts vs. The Outsiders
Page took down Nash with a belly-to-belly slam. Hall and Hart traded moves. The Outsiders worked over Page. They then had their turn with Hart. Nash and Page fought on the outside as Hall caught Bret for a chokeslam and got the win.

After the match, Nash grabbed a mic. He said, "Now that Page and Hart are done, they continue their takeover. A third man is on his way."

Decent match but I'm more excited for this third man Nash talked about.

Main Event. Austin Aries vs. Hideo Itami vs. Samoa Joe - NXT Championship
What a main event. Aries came back with a sweeping STO and took down Joe with a hurricanrana. Joe hit Aries hit a back elbow and jump kick in the corner. Aries hit a dive to the outside on Joe. Hideo attacked both men at ringside. Back in the ring, Joe locked Hideo in the Coquina Clutch. Aries then hit the Three Amigos. Hideo hit Aries with the GTS. Aries came back with a reverse exploder and didn't follow up. Joe then connected with the Muscle Buster on Aries to win.

That was a great main event. All three men had their chance to win. Joe was left standing at the end.

Recap: Both main championships changed hands here. Dusty did leave the event with a head injury. Just about three months left. Here we go.
